Instagram Mom of the Week: GG Renee Hill

The right word or gesture said or done at the right time can help us see the best in any situation. And that’s certainly the case when browsing through blogger GG Renee Hill’s pictures of her family (she’s the proud mother of three kids), poems, and encouraging quotes. Her Instagram account has become an empowerment tool for other women.

 

What you won’t do, is check off all the boxes all the time. Keeping everyone happy. Meeting all their expectations. Many times work will be neglected because of home and home will be neglected because of work. But what you will do, what you must do, is nurture yourself. Sometimes everything else has to wait while you breathe and reflect and recharge.

We had a YEAR. The kind of year that you look back on and just want to fall to your knees and say, THANK YOU. I thought I knew what faith was before, but now I know I had just scratched the surface. I believed in the concept, but in many ways, I was cheating on faith. I told myself that I believed, but I was still allowing doubt to control my actions. This was the year of surrender. GG Renee is also creative coach. She encourages women to use their creativity to find meaning in everything they do.

 

This son of mine. There was a time when it was just he and I. Young, uncertain mom. Juicy, happy baby. Suddenly he’s getting older and more complicated and I don’t always know if I’m doing this right but I love him like the air I breathe and our bond is strong. Being a mother is teaching me what it truly means to surrender.

My partner and I have been encouraging my son to start a t-shirt line. He draws things and leaves his art laying around the house and his dad picks them up and makes them into shirts. Teaching them early to be resourceful with their creativity. ☆☆☆
