Instagram Mom of the Week: Stacey Blake

Stacey Blake is a design blogger whose Instagram is overflowing with some of the most beautiful dwellings near and far. This Army wife takes us on a journey whether she’s sharing a bit of her Southern living style in Fayetteville, North Carolina or street design scenes from Paris. With her two boys Zion and Ian in tow, Stacey keeps us scrolling just to see what beautiful interiors are inspiring her each day on her Instagram account @designaddictmom.

Stacey has been featured in several publications and is a regular contributor to her local paper, The Fayetteville Observer. She shares tips on things like how to setup a movie night in your backyard and how to use wallpaper to decorate your home. Her kids also benefit from her DIY handiness.

#designaddictmomathome. It will soon make a year that the hubby came home and we’ve been blessed to have him for that long. I know a number of you don’t know the story behind this wallpaper. Well it was installed so we could feel closer to Dada when he’s away, so we could tell him we love him, so we could visit him whenever we wanted…. Your experiences in life tend to shape your point of view and what you value. As a military spouse I spend most of my time by myself with my kiddos worrying about the safety of my husband while he’s away. So how does this shape my point of view? I cherish every moment that I am blessed with and I LOVE really hard. I make a conscious effort to form real relationships with others because I know how fleeting life can be. I have lived that experience. I try to always have a grateful spirit and live an authentic life. “Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. We also love the educational design choices she’s made in her home. To help her son Zion cope with his dad being deployed, Stacey put up a map mural in his room.

And the chalkboard in the children’s playroom makes for a great background for photos—and for her boys to express themselves through endless doodling!
